About Alder Wellness & Counseling

Balance & Wellness are Possible

At Alder Wellness & Counseling, PLLC, we provide services for balance and wellness on the Kitsap Peninsula of the Puget Sound. We are based in Port Orchard. We provide telehealth counseling services for residents anywhere in Washington. Services include individual mental health counseling, EMDR therapy, and body-oriented psychotherapy approaches.

Alder Wellness & Counseling is named for the alder tree, a tree native to the Pacific Northwest known for its strength and balance, bridging and grounding.

I am here to help you discover your strengths so you can find balance and feel grounded in your daily life. Mental health counseling is not only for people who have a diagnosed mental health condition. Mental health counseling is a way for anyone to work on improving or maintaining mental health and wellness.

You are a unique individual and I will help you with a personalized plan for reaching your goals.

Meet Glenda DeMattyMS, MHP, NCC, LMHC, CCTS-I, CIMHP

I am a Mental Health Professional (MHP) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor  in the state of Washington (LMHC; License# LH61128052), and I am a Board Certified Counselor (NCC; ID# 744245). I received my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University’s CACREP accredited program.

I have been working in human and social services for more than ten years, and have developed a passion for helping adults discover their personal strengths and develop their own toolbox of skills and strategies for managing life’s joys and struggles.

I specialize in trauma, am a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist - Individual (CCTS-I), and I am trained in somatic and attachment focused EMDR therapy. Using a holistic approach, I help people learn about connections between mind, body, and spirit and how to create balance in mental, physical, and emotional health. I am also a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP), and enjoy helping people find alternative methods for mental wellness, including with nutrition and essential oils.

My practice is sex-positive and affirming of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship models.

When I'm not working, I love hanging out with my kids - although, they are pretty independent now! I enjoy painting, which is a new passion I only discovered a few years ago. And I LOVE playing with my essential oils - learning about them, creating recipes for my aromatic diffuser, and making DIYs for wellness. I love living so close to the ocean, and am grateful to have made the Pacific Northwest my home the past many years.
