A Few of My Favorite Things

I am here to help you discover your strengths so you can find balance and feel grounded in your daily life. Mental health counseling is not only for people who have a diagnosed mental health condition. Mental health counseling is a way for anyone to work on improving or maintaining mental health and wellness. I like to use a holistic approach to mental health, which includes tuning into your body, discovering connections between what's happening in your body and in your mind. 

I am passionate about helping people heal from their traumas and other adverse experiences, especially those they've been holding in their bodies since childhood. One form of therapy I get really excited about is EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. In EMDR, we work to reprocess those old memories still stored in your body, moving them over to a more adaptive place in your brain, which can have so many positive effects on other parts of your life.

Much of the work I do comes from an attachment theory framework. Our relationships with important caregivers in early childhood have a lot more to do with how we relate to others in adulthood than we realize. When there are things that interfere with secure attachments with caregivers in early childhood, we experience various effects in later relationships--whether with others or ourselves. I can help figure out those connections and partner with you to develop strategies for making positive change in your relationship with yourself and with others.

In my own health journey over the years, I've come to appreciate the value of natural solutions. The more we can do that is both good for the earth and good for our bodies, the better! What we put in and on our bodies matters. I would love to teach you more about how to use one of my favorite natural solutions, essential oils, to feel better and live well.

I work with individual adults in Washington to provide mental health counseling. 

An individual counseling session is a typical 53 minute hour.
